Miscreant Citizen
04:17
|
|||
Nothing you make will ever break, your feet are planted
Chase your golden chariot, you're the one who'll bury it
All the world you're parroting, that's what you're inheriting
Everything you decide to do is automatic
Your points of view are nothing new, it's only static
And when you speak your mind, lay your chips before you
Look around and you will find all your friends ignore you
What you think you know drags you down until you're
Out past the ebb and flow, and it's unfamiliar
Now that you're caught, you're in a know, you can't continue
What have you got? Don't have a thought to spare within you
Hide behind your vanity, compromise your sanity
Swollen pride so passionate, fusing lies to fashion it
Nobody plays, you waste your days so cavalierly
Set in your ways, lost in the haze you love so dearly
Oh, and it's all too much, it's a dangerous diet
You, you have lost your touch, but you still deny it
Running free
Axons awash in a chemical sea
It's such a simple skill, it's a cinch to master
But you never will, you're just spinning faster
You're off the track, you can't go back, you're slowly falling
Into the black and bitter crack that keeps you crawling
Watch your plots go tumbling, feel The Abstract crumbling
All your plans are paralyzed, swallowed up and sterilized
Thought you were smart, a work of art, your own Valhalla
You fell apart, now you can start to do it all again

Be Together
05:37
|
|||
All my senses stumble and sway as they tumble away
I don't know where I'm going, what's worth knowing
And all of my brain blows out through my nose when you're smiling
And still I'm piling up the tears through the years, clogging up my
I can see you looking at me, baby, why can't we ever be together?
What's the big deal? And you know how I feel
You're filling me with splinters, lonely winters
Without you I nose dive, barely alive, still I'm flying
You're satisfying every need, let me feed, I'll be gaining
Wait forever, that's what I'll do, baby, why don't you want me, too?
When you see the way that I seethe, as I struggle to breathe
You're bound to pay attention, did I mention you give me a love rash?
Each time I crash through your hurdle, I cramp and curdle
Bitter blood, clammy crud, fuse my feet and
Back together, that's what I want, even so you taunt, as you
Haunt me with your poisoned parade, now your poised to invade
My kingdom, and it's shrinking, now I'm thinking
Of you as my homeland, at your command, you're a nation
Of inspiration, dripping down as I drown, still I drink it
Incoherence, nothing is wrong, knowing we belong keeps me strong
Listen, Lame-o, to what I say, won't you wither away?
Shut up and pay attention when I mention so casually
We will never be together, untie me from your tether
Let me go, make it so I don't ever
Have to see or hear you again, or your why or when, now and
Then you've got to learn how to deal, I don't care how you feel
I once was filled with summers, now they're bummers
Without you I'd swan dive, free and alive, I'd be flying
So sayisfying, so well fed, but instead, I'm just losing
Wait until you please pass me by, and I wonder
Why won't you die?

It's a bright, fine day, but we're buried here alive against the tide
Of our magazines and TV screens' electron spray
And I can't believe we ever came inside
Leave us alone! Why should we bother to be sittin' pretty?
Get out of the way! It's time, now everyone's hip to gettin' gritty
Run from the house, roll into the garden
We wouldn't want to have to try not to fall, and we don't like bruises
And when the sweaty clothes around our ankles start to stiffen and harden
We'll have another little party trying to keep our balance, and we're gonna see who loses
Dancing with your pants down, down
Clutching at each other, as you fall over
Dancing with your pants down, down
Broken backs and heart attacks, surrounded by clover
Sun in our eyes! Cool breeze, the sweet smell of chlorophyll on leather
It's all that we need! One hill, and hundreds of people stuck together
Now that we're down, we better get busy
You know we got a lot of ground to cover, and we gotta keep ourselves lubricated
And every time we turn around, we find each other dripping and dizzy
Just think of all the many minutes that we went and squandered all those days we waited

She's No Vegetarian
02:46
|
|||
She's dreamin' about a steak, it gets her teeth hot
Within a minute or two, she's startin' to chew
She's coughing up a clot
Blood-soaked slices, ripe and raw
Shredded pulp from jaw to jaw
The aftertaste of fiber-paste is salty denouement
Well, why don't we all dig in, and suck us up some innard?
This here pig's been dead a long long time
I been around awhile, been lunched and brunched and dinnered
And nothing beats a sweaty slab of prime
She's no vegetarian, she's nobody's fool
She packs in pounds of greasy grounds
You can smell it in her stool
She's dreamin' about a steak, it gets her teeth hot, hot
Within a minute or two, she's startin' to chew
She's coughing up a clot
Not dead yet, but gettin' close, so close
Pretty soon she's comatose
A victim of a poisoned protein overdose
Well, why don't we all dig in, and suck us up some innard?
This here pig's been dead a long, long, long, long, long, long time
I been around awhile, been lunched and brunched and dinnered
And nothing beats a, nothing beats a sweaty slab of prime
She's no vegetarian, she's nobody's fool
She packs in pounds of greasy grounds
You can smell it in her stool

Doll Hammer
04:37
|
|||
Family favorite, eight years old
"Girl, do what you're told!"
Sara sadly repeats her dreams
Dad wants company, it seems
Once more, his whispered warning
"You'll not tell a soul come morning!"
She reaches, deeply, a strange night's sleep
Swirling spirits creep
Their dance surrounds her with frenzied cries
"Girl, come forward and claim your prize!"
Smeared with the strangest feeling
And a vengeful passion congealing
She awakens, charged with their song
"Dad! I need you! Come here, please! I swear it won't take long!"
As Dad comes in, Sara smiles and bites clean through his skin
Now he screams, his booming voice is rising in his fall
By the time he hits the floor, he's just another doll
Cluttering the rug
"Hey, Dad! Come on over here now, and give your girl a hug!"
As Dad runs, frantically, towards the door
Clutching, blindly, his curious sore
Sara snatches him by the thigh
And holds him up to her judging eye
Casting a final ballot
Now she grabs an iron mallet
And holds it over his tiny legs
Dad stares, horrified, as he begs
But Sara smugly ignores his pleas
And smashes down with a violent breeze
With every bit that she hits she's willed
To strike again till his end is filled

TV Paid Off
03:06
|

When I'm at home, I watch TV
Then I don't get so lonely for my mommy, my mommy
Daddy gets home from work so late
That's okay 'cause he pays for the cable, and that's so great
My mother's mother's mother never had any other mothers
Just a father and a mother there to bother one another
Reading puts me to sleep so fast
I'm glad reading has become a thing of the recent past
Good thing I don't live in England
I'd pay tax and get four stations to pick from
That's so dumb
My mother's mother's mother never had any other mother
Just a father and a mother there to bother one another
Now I'm a man, I don't live with Mom, I ain't got no TV to watch
So I'm gonna buy a TV today, Sony, no payment until the end of the
Yeah, got to check this deal out, no doubt, there's 32 inches of radiation I'm craving
Box it up, I'm ready to buy, no lie, just look at it, Kai
Won't it look nice in my living room?
I'm watching TV today, the satellite way, no contrast buzz annoying me
I got four-channel sound, surround, and look what I found, knee-replacement surgery on TLC
What you learn when you turn on a TV, there's no place I'd rather be than here with my TV
They say I watch too much TV, they're right, I haven't the might, or will to shut off my TV
'Cause I love my TV

Peeking through the window of the girl across the street
Some slumber-party action down the hall
Balancing, bent over, naked, on their hands and feet
Who can poo the farthest of them all?
Some go the distance, some need assistance, racing resistance dusk to dawn
Puffing and panting, still goes the chanting, raving and ranting, on and on and on
(and on, and on, and on, and on)
Down the block, a couple digs up something from their yard
They act as if they've hit the mother-lode
Kissing and caressing that for which they've worked so hard
A bag of human fingers a'la mode
Lost in a pleasure, knowing no measure, they spread their treasure out between them
Happily heaving, flesh interweaving, smugly believing no one's seen them
Grab your hat and help yourself to a neighbor, get wise
Treat yourself to the secret scenes of spies
You'll lock horns with a perfect world you never knew was there
All you gotta do is hop from house to house to house, and stare
Listen to the people as they romp about next door
Lazy sounds of laughter and a drill
Every day a masterpiece of madness to explore
Every day another window sill

Forever Endeavor

All through your life, you think about it
Fixing your eyes upon the skies, fighting surprise
Then another tragedy slams on in
Tears your insides out when you're least expecting
Nothing can prepare you for

Heavenly Scared So
03:36
|
|||
Pacing in front of your meek congregation
Licking your lips in lofty oration
You sharpen your claws, enforcing the laws
And the lies of eternal salvation
To keep them in line while you do your deceiving
You threaten the souls of the blind and believing
The Lord will forgive, if, as long as they live
They spend their days guilty and grieving
Silver crosses, your drying palm
Tokens of the trade
For giving them their sins, you calm
Souls upon which you've preyed
You swing across and hypnotize
To punctuate your spell
With the cross you tease and dot their eyes
And sentence them to hell
Obsessed with controlling how others should be
You spread the disease of the Heavenly Three
Your book is your blade in this selfish crusade
And you're pointing its pages at me
You make up the rules and happily brandish the list
Forbidding your people the pleasures by which they exist
Confessing the sins of their bodies' natural behavior
They punish themselves in the name of your saccharine savior

Your Disease is Nicer
02:54
|
|||
What'll I do till my fingers dry? Till the messy little grabbers get their way?
I would cancel all the answers in the wink of an eye
Just to give my hands a decent place to play
I don't wanna hear about your poor, private hell
I don't need to see you scars or count your tumors
I'm corrupt, and I'm feeling swell
Why do you complain so often when your disease is nicer?
Your disease is nicer
Everybost trusts in me that I'll make them well
Now I'm here to put an end to all those rumors
When you meet my prize personnel
You're as good as in your coffin, 'cause your disease is nicer
Your disease is nicer than mine
Standing all day in a sterile room
Can leave a surgeon feeling kinda drained
I'm bored with all your bleedin' and I'm sick of your doom
You're only here to keep me entertained
Year after year, my practice thrives
And I still treat my patients all the same
I play with their emotions and collect on their lives
And someone else will always get the blame

Potential People
06:26
|
|||
Jack is just an average teenage boy
Whose father always told him, as he'd smack poor Jack to scold him
That a body is a tool, and not a toy
"Never touch yourself down here, no matter what you do!"
Said Father, grabbing Jack, and almost shaking him in two
But late one night when all of the house was quiet
Jack got awful curious as to what made Dad so furious
And decided he would go ahead and try it
Every night behind the bathroom door
Squatting on his haunches, he lunges forth and launches
A thick genetic mess upon the floor
Once again, the liquid legions fly
A quivering cascade condemned to die
And they wilt for a while on the porcelain tile
Dead and drying as they're trying, in a wet white pile of foam
To be home again, back in the sac, as they curdle and crack
All because of a jerk called Jack
Floating in the Xs and the Ys
Spasm after spasm of perfect protoplasm
As half a future genius slowly dies
Once again, the liquid legions fly
A quivering cascade condemned to die
And they wilt for a while on the porcelain tile
Dead and drying as they're trying, in a wet white pile of foam
To be home again, back in the sac, as they curdle and crack
All because of a jerk called Jack
Breaking down the doors with flailing fists
The Eagle Forum has landed, and jack is caught red-handed
By a midnight mob of Catholic activists
"You've spilled the seed of God!" the leader whines
And she incites the night's stampeeding
Till our boy lies bruised and bleeding
While they gird his groin with planks and protest signs
Then as quickly as they'd come, the gang was gone
No more jacking Jack upon the john

Cells Out
04:43
|
|||
I'm clicking away, impulse-driven signals to stretch my neural frame
Much better today than the given digits with which my body came
Still, I'm feeling numb, flexing fiber with every movement that I make
I'm searching for some sexy cyber someone to satisfy my ache
Flesh is my essence, so ill-fated, in obsolescence and out-dated
Natural selection has unblended all imperfection and transcended
Raw, rubbery skin, micro-motors water my mouth and curl my toes
There's no fat or thin, clothes, or odors dictating how my passion grows
Technology guides gut reaction, cleavage and curve have lost their way
Now nature decides this distraction by the bionics on display
No more genetics to determine where my aesthetics can hold sermon
Creeping secretion, each spark seeking, reaching completion, my limbs leaking
Bursting to work it, each cell strangled, circuit by circuit, they hang tangled
Crushed muscular load, spinal sever, withering while my programs run
My binary code flows forever, zeroing in on everyone
Still I'm feeling numb, flexing fiber with every movement that I make
I'm searching for some sexy cyber someone to satisfy my ache

Bubblemath Minneapolis, Minnesota
Condensing out from the icy mists of Minneapolis, Minnesota, the first official incarnation of Bubblemath took shape in 1995. But the winds of circumstance were hard on poor, innocent Bubblemath, and the band found itself shaped and re-shaped, again and again, until the current and definitive lineup achieved full realization in October of 1998. ... more
